Unit 10: Professional Application of the Psychological and Spiritual Aspects of Healing

1.Review your unit 3 personal assessment of your psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being. Reflect on these areas . How did you score yourself on a scale from 1 to 10 in unit 3? How do you score yourself now? Has the score changed? Why or why not?

In unit 3 My scores were very low and very little knowledge.
Psychological (5) - I was in the middle fair, which that is not good, after taking this class i have learned the important of wellbeing and a few steps on how to training the mind into doing everything we wish to do. Mys cores has changed not much but still working on it, with time and dedication anything is possible.

Physical (5)- That is also fair, not what i wish for it to be but due to the injury on my leg i trained the mind to be lazy for a whole year. Now that I am able to let got of a few strings and don't baby my foot as much, I started my Yoga practice three times a week and got my self back on eating healthy, This aspect of my live has also changed i have gotten the confidence to mobilize my foot  which that makes me complete and able to continue with a healthier routine.

Spirituality (6) - I can say its still FAIR improving since i have been attending bible study and look forward on growing closer to the Lord. its a process of learning as well, and it is changing withing time. The reason i say it has been changing is because the Lord has provided for me an many ways that i could not think possible, I have peace of mind, one that I never though  I could ever find.

2. Review the goals and activities you set for yourself in each area. Have you made progress toward the goals? Explain.
My Goal was to be Patient with my daughter, till now i can say i am still working on it and just enrolled in to a parenting class on how to deal with teenagers through the Lords help. Working on it.

3. Have you implemented the activities you chose for your well-being in each of the three areas? Explain.
I have implemented the techniques thought in the book and the CD although it is very difficult to be soft I call it when your teenager had the opposite attitude. still working on it.

4.Summarize your personal experience throughout this course. Have you developed improved well-being? What has been rewarding? What has been difficult? How will this experience improve your ability to assist others?
I can say having Patience has been one difficult aspect of my life to deal with, but that only happens with one of my children not everyone in general. I can say that knowing who to train the mind to do as we wish for it to do has been very rewarding for me, it has showed me that one's can do anything in the world and there is not limits of what you want to do or how far to do want to get. I am still working on Love-and kindness which that includes patience for all that are around me, which my main focus is one particular person, my daughter. Once I learn to deal with this situation I think that the rest will just fall in place.

       I.            INTRODUCTION
It is important to understand the meaning of wellbeing, health and mind. As researchers have found that wellness, health and mind have much to do with spiritual and physical process through a psychologically process. Although this process take much more than training and following guidelines, ones experience can be very valuable to the results of others. Ones experience help understand the way many people feel, and easier to lead them to find that wellness and inner peace they are searching for.
I have set up a goal for myself; I do say it is going to take lots of commitment and dedication. My goal is to make time to meditate, do Yoga at least three times a day; this should not be hard since I used to maintain this schedule two years ago. However it’s been two years and my body is used to being lazy.
    II.            ASSESMENT
Analyze my state of being, not only physically but spiritual and psychologically. In order to asses myself I must follow a few exercised referred by the book of Dacher (2006)
The aspect of my life that causes me more distress of all I can say having patience towards my teenager. I get very frustrated with my daughter even though most of the time I sit and calm myself to come to a clear mind and realize she is only 16, but still end up with frustration because I know I cannot protect her from the world as much as I would like to. I know that it is very important to be patient and that would be bring many benefits not only for me but towards my children. Although it gets very difficult along the way, requires commitment and effort to get long-term results instead of short-term that last only a few minutes. I have a goal in mind and if that goal requires more of my time and commitment  to develop a better spiritual and physical self being, I need all that it can benefit me not only in a spiritual way but such as energy and clear mind, I will be more focus on how I respond to my children. My spirituality has been improving as I attend bible studies and become more involved with the word of God, it has help me soften my heart to things I would not even consider doing in life. I have found peace of mind that for many years I could not find in life. Although this requires a self check help you get back in track if ever have questions or doubts.
I am going to be honest with myself, I score FAIR, I am working on every aspect of my life, its been only 1 yr ½ since I started this process and still have a long way to go. The same goes for my spiritual wellness I score myself FAIR still have a long way to go. Hmmm as for my physical wellness I can say POOR  since I hurt my foot One year ago, I stop exercising and that lead to about 11-12 pound over weight not happy with it. I know this can be fixed pretty easy by exercising again.
 III.            GOAL DEVELOPMENT
Physical Goal—start and maintain a regular exercise like Yoga that includes meditation or Zumba, at least an hour, and three days per week, must get rid off those extra pounds.
Psychological Goal- have patience for my teenager and complete my bachelors in Science in Business Administration, gong into my last term.

Spiritual Goal – As part of my exercise program Yoga it includes quiet time meditation quiet time and of course attending my bible classes twice a week plus service will help me gain that peace of mind.
 IV.            PRACTICES FOR PERSONAL HEALTH
Physical Strategies:
Accountability – I find myself accountable to my children and my better half by letting them know what my goal is and ask them for support and help me keep me on track.
Go – as part of exercising I have committed to take my daughter to school walking that is about five blocks from home every morning.
Finish – My goal is to obtain my bachelors in Science in Business Administration and don’t give up.
Study – I don’t have the best grades, however I must study very hard for my grades and my grade point average won’t drop.
Intention – by attending bible study twice a week will help me concentrate on my spirituality.
Join – I can also volunteer in the church help those in need of any child care while they attend service or bible study.
    V.            COMMITMENT
I will check every aspect of my life and its process such as; physical, spiritual, and psychological.
Physically, I have no set myself to a challenge; my daughter has to get to school and what a better way to exercise, there is no way I cannot commit to this challenge unless it’s snowing, which it can happen.
Spiritually, there is a way to check myself as one of the pastors mention this week, every time I look at myself in the mirror, to avoid looking directly on the way we look physically it must be the way we look and feel within, which every day will be different and look more godly, also it will show on the way we communicate with the people that are around us, in a better humble way, with open and soft hearts, with PACIENCE.. This is going to be quite a challenge for me, but will overcome any obstacle.
By completing my spiritual and physical goals will lead to long-term amazing results that include peace of mind, confidence, patience and energy I have been searching for such a long time. Completing my bachelors will allow me to reach that goal of achievement and confidence, it is also a way of leading my children to a better life of their own, and showing them that with commitment and dedication anything is possible and it’s never too late or no one can ever be too old to for a new beginning.

Unit 8: Optimal Well-being: Psychological, Spiritual and Physical Keys to Health and Thriving

1. Review the exercises and practice sessions you have completed in this course(Loving Kindness, Subtle mind, Visualization, meditation etc.) Choose two practices that you have determined to be most beneficial. How can you implement these practices in your personal life to foster “mental fitness”? Provide specific examples

I have practice all these sessions but for me the ones that have been working the best are the loving and kindness and meditation.
Loving and kindness have been a challenge for me. I have learned that you cannot give other what does not exist within myself. In this care i must start within from the inside out. After that step it will be easier to show the loving-kindness those close to me.  I have practice to soften my heart and open my heart with kindness, care, PATIENCE, and generosity towards their needs.

Meditation requires time and commitment, but the results it provides I am willing to take the commitment. The results are far as i know are peace of mind, self awareness, energy, grounded, and patience. With only a few minutes a day in a quiet place and soothing sounds you will be able to reach that inner peace and all that you wish
